I’m on the way to Bath to read two books for AudioGo - the first is ‘Life! Death! Prizes!’ by Stephen May, and the second is ‘Haunted’, a collection of short stories by various authors.
Back at the Union Tavern in Clerkenwell tomorrow for heat 2 of the Sitcom Mission. This time I’m playing a lecherous ex-boyfriend who likes offal. Should be fun!
So after one readthrough and one rehearsal, we performed this evening… I think that’s the most scared I’ve ever been before doing a show! Very generous audience though.
I’m doing it all again next week, in a piece called Help Yourself. At least I’ll be better prepared for the fear next time!
Just had the readthrough for the sitcom COLD FRONT, which is taking part in this year’s Sitcom Mission competition. The finalists will be judged by a panel of commissioners from some of the UK’s biggest comedy studios, including the BBC, ITV, Comedy Central, Baby Cow, Hat Trick, Tiger Aspect, Avalon and others!
Cold Front is a great piece, and we’ve got a really strong team. Here’s to getting to the finals!

Plenty of exciting things coming up:
I’m on set this weekend, shooting the new episode of PERSONA.
I’m also about to start rehearsing for THE SITCOM MISSION.
I’ve also got a couple of audio projects at AudioGO in the pipeline: a new book called “Life, Death, Prizes!” by Stephen May, followed by the latest incarnation in the Spook’s series.
Finally, I’ll be reading a short story by Mark Haddon for the Liars’ League at the Waterstone’s on Gower Street, on May 21st.
This is where I’m going to be working for the next month - rehearsing and performing a promenade production called The Sign of the Strawberry at Strawberry Hill House!
I’m in Manchester today, recording an audiobook. This one is a brand new Tony Parsons offering, and it’s a great read…hopefully it’ll be a great listen as well!
